What you should know, The rules and some procedures with the Whale Shark have changed in respect to past seasons. We must take this into account, in order to offer them a better service, when booking and making the tour.

Season

The season starts on October 1 and ends on April 30

In months of high demand for the service

There may be waiting lists of up to 1 hour to half an hour to be able to swim with The Whale Sharks. In the month of December for three weeks during the end of the year holidays, as well as Easter Week and Easter Week, we can only make one tour per day to do the activity, in addition to doing it at a specific time. 8:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (Please contact the office and reserve in advance as there will be limited space and a single schedule for those dates).

The boats have GPS

The boats have GPS that are monitored by the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) as well as the speed of the same which are 7 knots in search of Whale Shark and 3 knots in the presence of Whale Shark.

The price includes a bracelet

The use of the bracelet supports the care of the whale sharks, in the area and that the rules are met with constant vigilance of a waterkeeper boat.

Maximum swimming time with the same whale shark: 30 minutes.

Biodegradable sunblock is needed

We have to be responsible, to take care of the marine fauna so as not to damage with some substances that some common sunblockers can cause damage to the specimen and the marine fauna, we have to be friendly.
